Melin Homes

Melin Homes is a Housing Association. We were created in 2007 and we own and manage over 3,200 properties in Blaenau Gwent, Monmouthshire, Torfaen, Newport  and Powys.  We are a major provider of affordable homes in South East Wales and pride ourselves in having a fresh and dynamic outlook with our intention being to make a positive difference in the communities within which we operate.  As well as homes to rent, we also build homes which are available to buy through low-cost home-ownership schemes and accommodation for older people.

Here are just a few of our most recent achievements::

• Melin’s ground-breaking work helping residents get connected to digital technology won acclaim recently at a National Housing Award ceremony with ‘Outstanding Achievement in Housing in Wales’ for our ‘Getting Connected’ project
• We are a lead employer in Torfaen of Future Job Fund Trainees
  We host and support Care and Repair agencies in Monmouthshire and Torfaen who provide help and support to over 4,000 clients a year
• Melin was recently awarded European funding to provide 88 work and training placements through the Intermediate Labour Market (ILM) scheme, managed in Wales by the Welsh Council for Voluntary Action and funded by the European Social Fund
• Our dispute resolution team has been awarded the Welsh Assembly Government standard on dealing with Anti-social behaviour
